This movie is a biopic on the journey of life of Jain Saint Shri Sudarshan Lal Ji Maharaj who transformed the life of lakhs through his preachings. He was born in 1923 in a lower middle-class but a highly cultured and principled family in Rohtak (a sleepy town 40 miles from Delhi). The boy grows up in the midst of chaos in his life due to demise of his mother in early childhood and then his best friend in adolescence within few days after his marriage.
The boy studies in different schools and receives primary care and affection from his grand-father, father, step-mother and an aunt.
Blessed with memory of a super-computer and sharp vision and focus in his life, he renounces the worldly pleasures to become a Jain monk where with his dedicated and committed attitude of service to the elders, he creates a name for Himself in short period of time and is offered the highly coveted position to be the of Head of Jain sect multiple times but he stays focussed on strengthening his foundation of values.
He was a great orator of his times and his simple but powerful preachings had a huge impact on thousands who transformed their lives and stayed away from vices. His blessings and divine touch had a miraculous effect on those who were suffering in life for whatever reason.
Post his elevation as the Head of his sect in 1963 upon demise of his Guru Vachaspati Shri Madan Lal Ji Maharaj, several young boys from rich and prosperous families from Delhi, Haryana and Punjab renounced the world at his holy feet to become his disciples and this had a huge multiplier effect on his outreach to bring reforms in society and community around him.
He walked more than 25,000 kilometres barefoot in his 57 years long journey as a monk, He delivered more than 15,000 discourses, cured the lives of lakhs and touched the lives of millions. At the peak if his name and fame, he stayed from all media glory and publicity, never touched money or jewellery, had no property or bank account. Despite being surrounded by the rich and famous, he always had a soft corner in his heart for those who were passing through difficult times. He lived a life of simplicity and devoid of even basic needs like fans or vehicles or communication.
Though he never acquired any university degree, but through his intellect, self-study and hard work, mastered 11 languages and could speak on complex topics of economics and environmental protection.
He left for his heavenly abode on 25th April, 1999 but left behind a rich legacy of his disciples who are still following his path of simplicity and carrying his messages to millions.
